Challenge & Scope Optimizing a preexisting MS Dynamics 365 cloud platform.
A department of urban planning in a major metropolitan area needed a solution on their Microsoft Dynamics 365 cloud platform to enhance the user experience of their stakeholders. The agency strives to better the lives of the public by playing an instrumental role in designing the physical and socioeconomic framework of their city.
The agency was experiencing major issues with the usability, user adoption, and performance of a preexisting digital transformation project. This project’s primary purpose was to process all end-to-end agency services for a land use application based on MS Dynamics 365. The agency also needed assistance in building its own public search portal on top of a renewed platform.
Solution Customized, user-friendly public search portal.
PruTech helped the agency develop a public search portal via MS Dynamics 365 and the Azure environment. The team’s versatility and expertise enabled them to leverage technologies sanctioned by the city government, including Angular, jQuery, C#, and SQL Server. The solution was also ADA compliant and translated into all designated languages in accordance with local requirements.
Additionally, PruTech built an effective service layer to connect MS Dynamics 365 directly to the agency’s search portal. This mediating layer facilitated the workflow process of the system, helping it function as efficiently as possible.
Result Enriched user experience and expanded public transparency.
PruTech’s solution allowed anyone in the agency’s city of operation to seamlessly access, submit, and review land use applications. Not only did the portal enable elected officials and key decision makers to review land use proposals, but it also granted the public an easy-to-use tool for a full and transparent view into the city’s planning process. PruTech’s replacement of the old digital transformation project resolved all previous issues regarding usability, user adoption, and performance.
The agency’s new and improved portal launched to great acclaim, becoming a valuable addition to their technology portfolio and another step in promoting the best interests of the citizens they serve.
